SciMed is pleased to announce its latest seminar “Oil Condition Monitoring and Predictive Maintenance” which will take place at the SciMed Headquarters in Stockport on Thursday 29th June 2023.
With rising costs of business and continued disruption to supply chains the need to ensure that the uptime of critical machinery assets is maximised and maintained has never been more important. This event will provide a comprehensive coverage of the methods, technical solutions and strategies offered by SciMed & Spectro Scientific to implement a simple, efficient, and successful on-site oil condition monitoring program.
Daniel Walsh is currently the Director, Technical Sales Support/Product Line Management for AMETEK Spectro Scientific. Mr. Walsh is responsible for providing global oil analysis solutions for customers in the industrial, fleet and laboratory markets.
Daniel has worked at Spectro Scientific in Sales, Application Engineering and Product Leader roles since 2010. Prior to this, he worked at BTS (Bently Nevada, as Technical Director and General Manager of the oil and fuel analysis laboratory.
He began his career as a Metallurgical Test Engineer at Pratt & Whitney Aircraft Engines. He has presented over 75 papers and presentations at leading industry conferences, focused webinars, including Reliable Plant, Lubmat, EPRI, STLE and Pittcon, and he has patents in ferrous wear debris detection in industrial fluids.
Mr. Walsh has a BS in Materials Science and Engineering from the University of Limerick and an MSc in Engineering Management from Tufts University. He also is a STLE Certified Lubrication Specialist.
Iris brings in an extensive industry background in Petrochemical, Environmental, Pharmaceutical, Food and Quality Control Industries and application knowledge in fuel analysis because of her beginnings as a product manager of analytical instruments and direct customer support.
Tom has a background in academia, where the identification and development of suitable analytical methods was critical to deliver successful research outcomes. Since joining SciMed, Tom has supported numerous companies in identifying their critical requirements and working alongside their maintenance/engineering teams to offer advice and solutions to ensure their needs are met successfully.
Garry has been with SciMed for over 10 years, initially in a customer support (applications scientist) role and now as product manager. His background is analytical chemistry with more than 25 years experience working in continuous process industry, contract testing laboratories and as an equipment supplier. This broad range of experience across multiple industries enables him to identify customer key requirements and ensure they are matched to the most appropriate solution.
The seminar will offer informative content on all aspects of in-service Oil Condition Monitoring (OCM).
Topics include, why do OCM; the fundamental principles of oil analysis and maintenance interpretations; the requirements for different industries and the techniques used, complete with case studies and practical demonstrations of a range of instrumentation, including the newly launched FieldLab series from Spectro Scientific.
